Aside from the Nexus 6P, Google also announced a new smartphone.
LG and Google made a collaboration with the release of Nexus 5 two years ago, now they are doing it again for the Nexus 5X during their announcement yesterday along with the Nexus 6P on their collaboration with Huawei, Nexus 5X will be available on October and will also have the upcoming Android Marshmallow. Google explained that “The Nexus 5X offers top of the line performance at an affordable price,”
The Nexus 5X will be running on Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 808 processor, which ensures that it will have a fast processing power, it will also sports a 1080p display equipped with a durable Gorilla Glass 3, it will also have the new 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.55-micron pixels and is capable of shooting 4K videos and has laser auto-focus system for a faster focus on your shots. Battery capacity is at 2,700mAh with RAM capacity of 2GB. It will also be using the reversible USB-C charging connector. The newest inclusion on the Nexus 5X is the fingerprint scanner, which Google dubs it as the Nexus Imprint, as more major phone manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple are adding fingerprint scanners as an important feature to their phone line-ups. The Nexus Imprint only takes you at around 600ms for your fingerprint to be recognized and each usage, the system learns more on the user?s unique fingerprint.
Some other features include a double tap feature on the power button to activate the camera, Doze mode for battery saving mode, Google Now on Tap and some of the new features that will be introduced in Android Marshmallow.
Preorders for the Nexus 5X is now open and will be priced at $379 for the 16GB version, all who preorder will get a 90-day free trial for Google Play Music and a $50 Play Store credit. Nexus 5X will be available in 40 countries on October 19.
