The new addition to the Borderlands series is finally coming. Dubbed as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. It will be available soon for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Yes. You read that right. No PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
The game will be set in Pandora?s Moon and between the events of Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2. The story starts out as a younger Handsome Jack shows you the rope for the earlier parts of the game. You get to choose from one of his four lieutenants. These are Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer or Claptrap. Yes. We are serious, you get to play as this noisy robot that you first saw in the earlier Borderlands games.
The game follows the same suit as the older ones have but having randomized loots and weapons that you?ll end up finding as you plow through enemies after enemies and boxes or crates. You also get to freeze enemies now with certain weapons and laser weapons are also added to the huge roster of random looking weapons.
Aside from retaining the existing features of the older games, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will also have more additional features never seen before with the previous games and that is something to look out for.
The only question to some is, why is it not going to make it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? Gearbox Software president, Randy Pitchford simply stated that “It’s not free to build a game for next-gen”.
“When you’re deciding where you’re going to spend your resources, I think we’re going to spend all of the attention we can on the game itself.
“And if you try to imagine the set of Borderlands players that have already upgraded [to Xbox One and PlayStation 4], that’s not 100 percent.” The difference in users who own newer consoles, but do not have an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3,? Pitchford explained, “is so close to nil that you can’t make a business rationalization around that.”
It boils down to the cost of producing the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
