New Rogue One Trailer Drops Tomorrow, See Teaser Trailer Here

By on

And we were fooled! A teaser for a trailer? Seriously? Come on! It?s as if waiting for the actual movie screening isn?t excruciating enough. Anyway, so here?s the scoop. Disney?s highly anticipated prequel Star Wars story should have had a new Rogue One trailer by now. Fans expected it to be released during the Star Wars Celebration in England when the film?s cast were present. But no, they just had to tease us more.

A teaser for THE trailer was just released and finally announces that the actual Rogue One trailer is scheduled to debut on Thursday during NBC?s coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics. While you won?t see much, glimpses at Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang) and Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) along with the rebel U-Wing and the droid played by Alan Tudyk are a treat nonetheless. See it here now.

As a prequel movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will take place in the time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The movie focuses on how the Rebels, led by Jyn Erso, got the plans for the Death Star – the Empire?s destructive weapon and will feature new alliances and new alien races that will stand to expand the Star Wars universe.

Rogue One Trailer

ScreenRant reports that as the first of an anthology series, Rogue One is charting new territory in being officially sanctioned to operate outside of the Star Wars episode formats. If ?hope begins with a rebellion? as the teasers suggest, there?s a lot of work to be done in setting up the events that lead to the canon fans are familiar with. The teasers also emphasize Rogue One?s unofficial ties as a prequel to the first film in the series, Episode IV: A New Hope.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to screen in theaters on December 16, 2016, followed by Star Wars: Episode VIII on December 15, 2017. The Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film is scheduled to premiere on May 25, 2018, Star Wars: Episode IX some time in 2019, while the third Star Wars Anthology film should be in 2020.
