While a movie for the recent Pokemon: X and Y has been released, another one is in the works. During the launch for the movie “Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction,” it was revealed that yes, indeed, a movie for the Hoenn remake is in the works.

During the premiere of the X and Y movie, a new trailer came out, this one aimed at bringing news about what viewers will expect for the new Hoenn remake movie. In this movie, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon will take center stage. As far as other details are involved, though, nothing else has been revealed so far, so speculations are abound, naturally.

Nintendo issued a press release explaining the Primal Reversion that Kyogre and Groudon undergoes in the movie. In this press release, Kyogre and Groudon undergoes the process when they get their original power from nature, and in the process, gain even more power than they already have. This power, locked within Primal Reversion, is still under scrutiny, as well as what connection it may have with Mega Evolution.

Kyogre and Groudon are, as fans of the series know, the signature legendary Pokemon for each title. Groudon is a ground-type Pokemon, while Kyogre is a water-type. In this regard, their Primal Reversion adds another dimension to their types. Groudon becomes a ground/fire type Pokemon, while Kyogre gains an as of yet unnamed ability.

Bonus: Starters Revealed for the Titles

The introduction of Mega Evolution for these titles adds another exciting facet for the series. While there are Pokemon, such as Kangashkan and Chansey, that do not experience evolution at all, Mega Evolution gives even these Pokemon a chance to experience revolution. They may even have greater skills and abilities, such that are not even heard of before.

Being titles that were released after Pokemon X and Y, Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby were of course expected to bring along Mega Evolution in its series. There is also the fact that starters are guaranteed to have Mega Evolutions, with Blaziken already receiving one in Pokemon X and Y.

Along with Mega Metagross, Mega Diancie, and Mega Sableye, expect to see Mega Sceptile and Mega Swampert strut their stuff. The Mega Evolutions of these Pokemon seem to be just a natural progression of their forms after their third evolution.

It’s just the tip of the iceberg for these remakes. With its launch still fairly far in November, expect these games to receive a lot more updates and reveals starting from now up until then.
