Still a few more months to go, but it seems like there?s a very big possibility of new Apple iPhone models being announced this year. The news is expected to come?this September.
The new iPhone, which will be introduced either as the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7, will still feature the same size as the game-changing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The most notable difference is rumored to be the Force Touch ? a feature made available only in Apple Watch and the newest MacBook model. Force touch senses how hard a user is pressing on the screen, which can determine the function needed from the phone.
The models, said to already been in production, took almost two years of work to complete the pressure-sensitive displays. According to a Bloomberg article, the feature, which lets users adjust the strength of their screen taps to bring up different functions, is Apple?s latest move to stay ahead of rivals such as Samsung, which this year released its latest Galaxy smartphone with a screen that can be viewed from the side.
The new iPhone models have been aggressive in their competition against more popular brands (in Asia in particular) like HTC and Samsung, in terms of screen size and interface. More people now prefer a wider screen to work on, combining the convenience of both phone and tablet in one.
iPhone sales skyrocketed this year with almost 40 percent increase, and was able to record 61.2 million in sales ? higher than the projected 58.1 million units. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus helped level the playing field, which Samsung dominated for three years in terms of most preferred smartphone brand.
Apple has recently admitted to considering China as one of its main markets as it toppled US demand of the iPhone in the first three months after the new models launched globally.
