Ubisoft Montreal, Assassin?s Creed series? lead developer is letting the publishers of Quebec studio handle the franchise reins, at least for one game.

This will make it the first Assassin?s Creed that will be developed by Ubisfot Quebec.

The publisher wrote on its blog that, ?Ubisoft Quebec will be taking the lead on the development of a future Assassin’s Creed.? The company also stated that they are going to expand the studio?s work space by attributing 4 million Canadian dollars. Also, the government in Canada is also contributing half a million dollars on the establishment as well.

Ubisoft Quebec has never led an Assassin?s Creed game development, but it has pitched in on many installments in the series. Ubsifot Quebec helped in the development of Assassin?s Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin?s Creed: Revelations, Assassin?s Creed 3, Assassin?s Creed 3?s The Tyranny of King Washington DLC and Assassin?s Creed 4?s Freedom Cry expansion.? Nicolas Rioux, managing director of Ubisoft Quebec said that, ?The team is ready for the next big step.?

The Quebec team is currently consisting of 350 people and is still growing. ?We plan to be at 425 people before the end of 2017.? Nicolas estimated. The rising company is committed to being in its imminent St-Roch location for 14 years at the least, as it has signed a dozen year lease already, in its office that is under construction which will not be completed until 2016.

?One of the main missions of our studio is to be a leader in creating a universe ? connected and mobile. Beyond that, it?s to be able to connect to our universe wherever you want, with whatever device you want and at anytime you want.?
, Nicolas stated.

Ubisoft Montreal will still be heading the franchise outside of this particular title, this has been confirmed by Ubisoft in a statement to GamesIndustry International. “Montreal will continue to be a lead studio for other AC titles. And Montreal and Quebec will continue to collaborate with each other and with other Ubisoft studios – that’s been key for making sure each Assassin’s Creed title offers something new and creative for players.”
