New Android 4.4.2 KitKat Sound Bug Fix for Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact Rolling Out in April 7th

Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact has been well received until an audio bug was found, infecting the internal speaker of these smartphones. Sony Mobile will release a new update containing the patch fix next week starting in April 7th.

Audio Bug on Android KitKat

Sony did release Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact which gave a positive impression until users found an unusual bug. An audio bug is currently disrupting the full functionality of the internal speakers on these smartphones which users won?t be able to hear notifications, alarms, videos and calls.

It is considered a very critical bug due to the main functions affected and Sony Mobile acknowledged the problem. In April 7th, the company will initial a new Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware containing the fix for Xperia Z, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact.

?Sony Mobile Communications would like to provide an update in response to reports around abnormal audio functionality and quality; that some users may be experiencing on their Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact devices after upgrading to Android 4.4 KitKat. We have identified this issue on some units of these models and measures have been taken to swiftly deliver a solution for our users. A fix for these models will be included in a new software release that will start rolling out from next week (w/c7/04) with exact availability and timing varying by operator and market,? Sony Mobile official statement.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat from Sony Mobile revamped various aspects and settings on Xperia Z series, which will remain in the upcoming new software containing a bug fix. If you haven?t updated your Xperia Z device, here are the things you will receive.

  9. Movie Creator feature added.
  10. Music Unlimited added to WALKMAN app.
  11. New camera app UI.
  12. New aspect ratio for Superior Auto.
  13. AR effect for videos enabled.
  14. Record videos with filter effects.
  15. Updates on Sony native apps.
  16. New Answering Machine feature.
  17. Changes on buttons and placing in the Settings menu.
  18. Changes on customisation options such as themes, notifications and status bar.
  19. Battery saving mode for location services.
  20. Messaging apps ? Hangouts or default Sony ? with more emoji icons.
