The much awaited MMORPG game titled Neverwinter is finally coming to gaming consoles. Perfect World Entertainment, the game?s publisher, announced that the title will first be made accessible to Xbox One players.
Developed by Cryptic Studios, NeverWinter is a free-to-play MMORPG that is based in none other than the Dungeons & Dragons Universe. China will be the first country to have access to the game, as it will be launched there this coming September. As for Europe and North America, the game will be rolled out in the first half of next year.
According to Perfect World’s statement release ? “coming to consoles, starting with Xbox One,” ? it is likely that the game will also be made available on other platforms. Everyone who owns or who will own a Sony PlayStation 4 hopes it will be rolled out on the newest Sony PlayStation model too.
Last June 2013, Neverwinter was originally released for the PC.? Xbox One Players were required to obtain a subscription to the Xbox Live Gold to play a version of the game. Per month, the subscription costs $10, but if you subscribe for an entire year, you would only have to pay for $60, which means that you get a 50% discount.
According to Alan Chen, the CEO of Perfect World, “Consoles are a perfect fit for action-oriented MMORPGs like Neverwinter, and we are thrilled to be one of the first publishers to bring premium free-to-play titles to leading next-gen platforms.? He also added that, “Being able to bring Neverwinter to the Xbox One is a critical achievement for Perfect World. It is our first step taking our games beyond the PC market.”
While fans and gamers are waiting for Neverwinter?s console version, they can enjoy the new expansion pack called Tyranny of Dragons that is available for the PC version. It will be released two weeks from now.
