The future looks bright for Neko Atsume’s Home film (Neko Atsume no Ie). It was recently confirmed that it will open in Japan on April 8, 2017. The film is based on Hit-Point’s smartphone app Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector.
Actress Shiori Kutsuna will star in the film. She is best known for her part in Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV‘s Lunafreya. Neko Atsume’s Home film will feature the life of Sakumoto.
Neko Atsume’s Home Film Plot
Sakumoto is a novelist and a best-selling author. He has been dealing with writer’s block lately. So he moves to a new home in the hopes of finding an inspiration to write. He was at his wit?s end one day and he looked out into the garden. There he saw a cat.
The cat intrigued him and he started talking to the animal. But whenever he tries to talk to the cat, it goes away. He becomes gloomy once again.
One evening, Sakumoto decides to place dry cat food in a corner of the garden. The food was gone the following morning. This has left the writer intrigued.
As for Kutsuna?s character, ?she will play the role of an editor named Michiru. She is in charge of Sakumoto’s works. Sakumoto is a role played by Atsushi Itou. The actor is known for his roles in the live-action Densha Otoko television series and Flying Colors/Birigal. Masatoshi Kurakata (Railways Ai o Tsutaerarenai Otona-tachi e, Game Center CX the Movie 1986 Mighty Bomb Jack) directs the highly anticipated film.
The screenplay is planned and written by Y?ji Nagamori. Mediand is producing.
Hit-Point’s smartphone app Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is apparently a huge success that it even inspired a film. The aforementioned game has been downloaded over 19 million times worldwide. It was released in October 2014.
