NBA Trade Rumors: Will Miami Heat Acquire Russell Westbrook?

By on

Miami Heat has lost its star player, Dwayne Wade, to Chicago Bulls. Hence, Heat is speculated to be searching for a popular and reliable player. NBA trade rumors indicate that it may acquire Russell Westbrook.

Kevin Durant, who played for Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008 to 2016, has left the team to join Golden State Warriors. If Westbrook also decides to leave OKC, the team can suffer a second blow. NBA trade rumors suggest that several teams like Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks are looking forward to acquire him.

Miami Heat has always been a lucrative destination for free agents. Washington Post has reported that Heat?s President, Pat Riley is known for convincing star players to join his team and he has also shown his interest in having Westbrook in his team. In 2010, he had convinced LeBron James to leave Cleveland Cavaliers to join his team.

Speculations indicate that Heat is willing to trade three players namely, Goran Dragic, Justin Winslow and Josh Richardson to seal up a deal with Westbrook, iTech Post reported. And OKC is also expected to go ahead with the deal as it is speculated to rebuild the team without Westbrook. The team is reportedly listening to offers from other teams.

Russell Westbrook

A producer of local radio station of Boston has revealed that Boston Celtics will be signing a significant deal with a superstar NBA player. NBA rumors suggest that the team is eyeing either one of the two players such as Russell Westbrook and Demarcus Cousins.

Westbrook holds the point guard position for his current team, Oklahoma City Thunder. Although NBA trade rumors are suggesting that he will leave OKC, there are contradictory rumors that indicate that he may not leave the team.

Westbrook has served for OKC for a long time, but his role was sidelined because of Durant?s presence in the team. Since Durant has signed up a deal with the Warriors, Westbrook will have a chance to become an unprecedented leader of OKC.
