The NBA trade rumors are becoming more and more interesting as the 2016 regular season continues. The Sacramento Kings has been at the center of the recent rumors. This is in large part thanks to the rumblings that the team could look to move Rudy Gay and even franchise player DeMarcus Cousins. Now, it appears that the Kings have plans on trading sophomore big man Willie Cauley-Stein as well.
Cauley-Stein was drafted sixth overall in last year?s NBA Draft. The Kings had high hopes for the big man as the franchise certainly viewed him as a possible partner in the frontcourt alongside DeMarcus Cousins. Things have not gone smoothly for the 23-year-old Kentucky forward as he averaged just 7 points and 5.3 rebounds last year.
Now, it appears that Cauley-Stein could be on the move too as Marc Stein of ESPN reports that the Kings could be open to moving the big man. The same report mentions that Cauley-Stein wants a bigger role than what he currently has with Kings head coach Dave Joerger.

This is a very shocking move for the Kings if it ends up being true. DeMarcus Cousins has already been rumored to be on the move and if that is the case Cauley-Stein would have been the primary beneficiary.
There have been no news as to what assets the Kings might want in exchange for Cousins. One possibility though is high draft picks and younger players to help start the rebuilding process for Sacramento.
If the Kings do not get a reliable big man in the potential Cousins trade, Cauley-Stein will be thrust into the starting gig and get all the minutes he could handle. That would certainly make him think twice about asking for a trade out of Sacramento.
This is still a developing story though so Kings fans should just wait for more news about it in the coming weeks or months. Be sure to check back here soon to find out more details about this and other NBA trade rumors as well as news on other trending topics in the NBA.
