NBA Trade Rumors: Kevin Durant To Sign With Miami Heat?

By on

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is definitely in the middle of all NBA Trade Rumors especially with the fact that free agency is about to hit the league in less than a week. However, with a lot of teams chasing after the star, it seems like there are only two serious contenders left–the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors.

Durant will become a free agent on July 1 and several powerhouse teams have expressed their desires to add the OKC star in their roster. Some of the teams are Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. However, in a recent interview by The Oklahoman with several agents, it was revealed that the Heat and the Warriors are the only ones left on the discussion table.

According to an agent, if Durant would choose to leave the Thunder organization, the team in which he would sign ?needs to be a good team, in a better market with a better chance to win than OKC.? The agent then added, ?So Golden State and Miami become the only real players. It?s too hard to justify a move to Los Angeles (Lakers) or New York because they are not close to winning. Houston?s out.?

So, that would definitely turn the heat up in Durant?s free agency. If he would join the Miami Heat, he will be crossing the borders and jump from the Western conference to the Eastern side. He is going to join Heat star Dwyane Wade, Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic.

On the other hand, if he signs with the Warriors, who arguably is the best team in the West right now, he will have a better chance of taking a shot at the title in the 2016-2017 season of the NBA. The organization will then form a four-man core with Durant alongside power forward Draymond Green and backcourt partners Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.

As of now, there is still no confirmation from Durant and his team, Roc Nation, as to where he would eventually take his talents. But according to another agent, Durant already ?knows his plan before this process happens? and it is ?more formality than anything else.?

If there is one thing that is sure, Durant is not going to be touring city-to-city. It is just going to be a meeting between the teams? representatives and Roc Nation in New York City where Durant?s team is based. How about you? Where do you want Durant to go?
