The NBA Trade Rumors does not seem to be losing any steam as the offseason continues. More and more superstars are being mentioned in trade scenarios and the latest one is Milwaukee?s Greg Monroe. If the recent rumors are to be believed, Greg Monroe could potentially be traded to the New York Knicks.
Monroe was a hot free agent during last year?s offseason. He was coveted by many teams but he decided to choose the Bucks over other squads. That decision though has not paid off for the big man as he has just not fit in with the current Milwaukee roster. With athletic players and an up-tempo offense, Monroe?s traditional big man skills have not been of great use to the team which is why he is rumored to be on the trade block.
There are multiple teams reportedly interested in the Bucks center but NBA reporter Sam Amico has revealed that the New York Knicks is one potential destination for Monroe. The report further states that the Knicks may need a third team to make the trade happen so it would likely be a blockbuster three-team trade if it does goes down.
New York recently signed Joakim Noah as a free agent but he has had some injury problems the last few years. Getting Monroe could be the insurance that they need in order to ensure that they have a talented big man if indeed Noah gets hit by the injury bug once more.
With a roster composed of Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Noah and sophomore sensation Kristaps Porzingis, the addition of Monroe would instantly make the Knicks one of the strongest teams in the Eastern Conference. Will we get to see Greg Monroe in the Big Apple next season? That question is certainly on the minds of many Knicks fans as the start of the NBA regular season nears.
