Cleveland Cavaliers is rumored to be looking for a strong player for the upcoming NBA season. Fresh NBA trade rumors indicate that the team may either acquire DeMarcus Cousins or Nerlens Noel.
Cavaliers managed to clinch the 2015-16 NBA championship title by beating the Golden State Warriors. To build a fortified team, Warriors have already added Kevin Durant to their rooster. The Warriors are one of hot favorites to win the upcoming 2016-17 NBA championship title. However, the Cavs is putting good efforts to defend its title.
Cavaliers have lost some crucial games because of the inconsistent form of Kevin Love. Hence, NBA trade rumors suggest that Cavs is ready to trade him and acquire a new player. Speculations are rife that Cavs may either acquire Cousins or Noel.
Recent news has stated that Sacramento Kings are not ready to give away Cousins. However, it is a known fact that the team is rebuilding as it recently added new players like Skal Labissiere, George Papagiannis and Cauley-Stein. Cousins will become a free agent for 2018 NBA season.
In the recent past, Cavs had inquired on Cousins which indicates that the team is a looking for an ideal for the center position. Love is receiving a better pay from Cavs than the amount Cousins is receiving from the Kings. Hence, in order to Love onboard Kings will have to give away Cousins and another player such as Ben McLemore and Kosta Koufos.
The other option for Cavs is to have Noel from Philadelphia 76ers. Defense is one of the weaknesses of Cavs and they are in need of a good rim protector like Noel.
However, the problem is Cavaliers cannot directly acquire Noel by trading Love. It needs to involve a third team like Sixers. In order to have Noels in the team, NBA trade rumors indicate that Cavs may send Love to Sixers.
