After the NBA free agency officially started last week, several NBA trade rumors and news have circulated on the web. With Kevin Durant finally deciding to sign with the Golden State Warriors, NBA fans are now eager to see where the Miami Heat superstar, Dwyane Wade, would land after all the negotiations.
During the past week, there are a lot of teams that offered for Wade. However, when the star shooting guard announced his desire to only sign a 2-year $50 million contract, the organizations going after him became scarce.
With that, there are only four teams where Wade might want to go. These are back with the Miami Heat, the Denver Nuggets, the Chicago Bulls, or he joins his buddy LeBron James at the Cleveland Cavaliers. Earlier this week, the Heat increased their offer to Wade to $40 million, but given that the shooting guard wants to sign a $50 million contract, Miami is obviously $10 million short, which would somehow put them out of the bidding process. Although they are short in terms of money being offered, it cannot be denied that Wade has spent his entire 13-year career with the Heat so he might consider returning to the organization.
On the other hand, the Nuggets and the Bulls are still in talks with Wade and they definitely have the cap space to offer the money he wants. Also, there are reports stating that Denver has already offered Wade a two-year deal north of $50 million, which they hope the Heat star would accept.
Recently, Wade cancelled his meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks and it is probably because of the cap space the organization currently has, which is at about $17 million, and that would place the Bucks out of the picture.
However, the most interesting NBA trade rumor at this time is the one involving Dwyane Wade and the Cleveland Cavaliers. It can be recalled that earlier this year, James announced that he wanted to build a super team with his best buddies Wade, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony. If Wade would sign with the Cavs, then James? desire would somehow become a reality but instead of Paul and Anthony, the team will have two other superstars in Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.
Unfortunately for Wade, if he decides to reunite with James, although it is true that they would once again have a shot at the title, he would have to settle for lesser money than what is being offered by other teams because as of now, Cleveland has no cap space and could only offer their $3.4 million mid-level exception.
Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, there is a team that is forming their own super team, the Golden State Warriors. They recently acquired the Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant and just hours ago, power forward David West agreed to sign a minimum contract with the Dubs.
This year?s free agency has gotten really interesting and sparked a lot of NBA trade rumors. And, fans would definitely want to know the final outcome after all the negotiations. How about you? Where do you think Dwyane Wade would sign? Is it really possible that he would go over to Cleveland? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
