NBA Trade 2016: Kyrie Irving May Convince DeMarcus Cousins To Join Cavs As Both Show Olympics Chemistry

By on

The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently building up their roster to try and defend their championship title in the upcoming season and according to NBA Trade 2016, they are pursuing the formidable big man DeMarcus Cousins. With Cavs star Kyrie Irving playing with him in Team USA, would it play a huge role for Cousins to sign with Cleveland?

For the past weeks, Cousins has been involved in several NBA Trade rumors, and one that has been huge is him joining the Cavs. It is a known fact that the big man is playing for the United States in Rio Olympics 2016. Alongside with him is the star point guard of the defending champs, Irving. Now, there are rumors that the latter might be persuading Cousins to join their team and defend their crown.

Back in 2010, LeBron James joined the Miami Heat alongside Dwyane Wade and star forward Chris Bosh. However, rumor has it that the trio has already planned it when they first played together in the Beijing Olympics 2008. With that issue, it seems like it is going to be the same this year as Irving is said to be recruiting Cousins to join their team.

If that would be true, then Cousins will be joining James and Irving in the Cleveland Cavaliers roster. However, the organization cannot sign the big man directly as he is currently under contract with the Sacramento Kings until the 2017-2018 season. Before Cousins can play for the Cavs, he would have to be traded to the team.

Speaking of the possible NBA Trade, it appears that Kevin Love is going to be involved in the deal. Ever since they have won the championship in June, there are rumors stating that the Cavs have been wanting to trade the power forward away, and Sacramento could be his destination if Cleveland is really going after Cousins.

Aside from the Kings, the Cavaliers is also said to be offering Love to other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Julius Randle and Paul Millsap, respectively. As of now, there are still no clear indication as to where Love would land before the 2016-2017 season kicks off.

With the great chemistry that Irving and Cousins are showcasing, is it really possible that the former is recruiting the latter? Share your thoughts in the comment section below. For more NBA Trade 2016 rumors, stay tuned here on The Bitbag.
