The NBA offseason continues to be very exciting as more veterans want to join championship teams to chase a ring. Richard ?Rip? Hamilton is the latest veteran to be linked to these rumors as the shooting guard is rumored to be considering making a comeback this coming season.
Rip Hamilton is considered as one of the best shooters in the NBA in recent memory. He has mastered his mid-range game which has become his main weapon in his 14 year NBA career. He won a championship with the Detroit in 2004 and has served as a veteran presence when he joined the Chicago Bulls in 2011. He retired after the 2012-13 season with the Bulls but now Rip may be looking to join the stacked Warriors squad to try and get another ring.
According to Slam Online, Rip is reportedly considering coming out of retirement and making a return this season. The report mentioned that Rip will give himself a month to get into shape so that he can continue his hope of coming back to the NBA.
When talking to the Detroit Free Press, Hamilton said that he is making his comeback because of his kids. ?I?m actually doing it for (my kids) and for myself, too, to get an opportunity to make one more run at it?, Rip said.
While several teams would love to have the services of the smooth shooting veteran, the Warriors are surely among the teams that he is considering. Golden State are still lacking depth at the shooting guard spot and Hamilton could certainly make for a very intriguing addition.
There is no confirmation yet as to which team Rip will want to sign with but expect more news to surface as training camp draws closer. Be sure to check back soon to find more updates on this developing story as well as other trending topics in the world of the NBA.
