LeBron James made history this season as he capped off an excellent campaign by winning it all for his hometown of Cleveland. James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to become the first ever team in the NBA Finals history to come back from a 3-1 series deficit to win it all. He was rightfully awarded the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, which certainly completed the championship run on a high note.
Still, even if it has only been a day after James won the title, there has already been some early rumblings that there is a possibility that he could leave Cleveland and sign with another team. According to a report from Bleacher Report, the Los Angeles Lakers are said to be ?in the mix? as possible destinations, if LeBron does indeed leave the Cavs.
The talk of the potential move to the Lakers was first made by ESPN?s Stephen A. Smith on his First Take talk show. ProBasketballTalk previously reported that there is a possibility that James could leave Cleveland and return to Miami if he won a championship. Now, the question on whether or not he stays or goes is surely on everyone?s minds. With the recent rumors, it seems that LA has been added to the list of possible destinations for James aside from Miami.
It should be noted that James left the Miami Heat for the Cavs to bring home a championship title to Cleveland. He has done just that after a thrilling 93-89 victory over MVP Stephen Curry and the rest of the Golden State Warriors. Now that he has accomplished his goals, will The King decide to take his talents back to South Beach to play with his buddies Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh?
It is still too early to tell, but surely this is one storyline that is worth monitoring as the NBA enters Free Agency in the next month. Be sure to check back here soon to find out more news about LeBron James as well as other trending stories in the NBA.
