There were a lot of big surprises in the NBA this week as several big-name players found themselves getting traded to a brand new team. Among the biggest names to play for a new franchise is former MVP Derrick Rose. Rose was a hometown hero in Chicago, revitalizing the then cellar dwelling Bulls to basketball prominence. Unfortunately, injuries have taken its toll on the point guard and Chicago ultimately decided to trade him to the New York Knicks. Now, more NBA Rumors are swirling that Rose may be recruiting another former teammate to play with him in New York.
According to The New York Post, the new starting point guard for New York is reportedly recruiting his pal Joakim Noah to play for the Knicks. The Knicks just traded its starting center Robin Lopez to get Rose so there is certainly a spot in the roster for Noah.
It is not only Rose who wants to get Noah in a New York jersey. According to DailyKnicks, the team itself is reportedly interested in getting the passionate forward-center during free agency. At the moment the team has no starting center and surely management will try to address this void during free agency. Noah seems to be the perfect fit as he already has chemistry with Rose and his hustle and energy never seem to wane as his career progresses.
The Knicks have had a tough couple of years, with their last playoff appearance dating back to the 2012-13 season. Now with Rose, Carmelo Anthony and promising Kristaps Porzingis on the roster, the addition of Joakim Noah may be the missing piece to create a formidable playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.
