NBA Free Agency 2016: Linsanity in Brooklyn? Jeremy Lin Agrees to Sign with Nets

The NBA Free Agency 2016 frenzy has started and rumors have been non-stop about the deals that could go down involving some of the NBA?s biggest players. While some free agents are still holding out and taking their sweet time in making the decision, some have already closed the deal and have signed with the team of their choice.

One of the bigger names which has already been confirmed as signing with a new team is Jeremy Lin. If you can still remember, Lin had a memorable run which really helped capture countless fans for the young player. ?Linsanity? was an instant hit with worldwide and now it appears that Brooklyn may be its next stop.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Jeremy Lin is said to have agreed with the Brooklyn Nets for a three-year deal. The deal is expected to be around $36 million and is certainly one of the bigger paydays for the point guard.

The same report mentions that Lin will be making a return to the New York area, which is where Linsanity was born. This was at a time when Jeremy Lin carried the Knicks to a winning streak because of the terrific performance that he displayed. It was like a Cinderella story that the entire world fell in love with.

Now Lin will try his best to turn around another losing franchise, the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets have been awful the past couple of years and maybe Lin is the player that they sorely need. ESPN reports that the Nets still have around $40 million remaining in the salary cap after signing Lin so they could be targeting another free agent to join Lin.
