The defending champs Cleveland Cavaliers and last season?s runner-up, Golden State Warriors, have been battling for supremacy for two years already. And, it seems like their feud has also been taken to the video game NBA 2K17. To give players a better perspective, here are the two team?s top player ratings.
After the Finals in June, Cavs fans already expected a boost in their players? ratings. That is certainly the case as Kyrie Irving gets his overall rating up. Cleveland still has the player with the highest rating, LeBron James with 96. Irving, on the other hand, has 89 while Kevin Love has 82. Tristan Thompson also has a decent rating of 81 to back their big three.
The Golden State Warriors, for their part, has their own power roster. Four of their five starters has a rating over 90. Shooter Klay Thompson and forward Draymond Green each has 90. Kevin Durant, the biggest addition to the Warriors lineup during the pre-season, is rated 93. While for the reigning season MVP Stephen Curry, he is at?94. Curry follows James’ 96 making him the second on the list of highest player ratings.
With the Golden State outweighing the Cleveland Cavaliers in terms of overall player ratings, it would certainly make them the fan-favorite in the NBA 2K17. Also, these numbers at hand could be a sign of another installment of the Warriors-Cavaliers rivalry, which started in 2015.
For two years in-a-row, the two teams have faced each other in the NBA Finals. Warriors won the?2015 meeting in a 4-2 series standings. However, the Cavs bagged the championship this year, making the rematch’s result different. It was after the Warriors blew their 3-1 lead in the Finals and came up short in Game 7 of the series.
But, with Durant now in the Golden State roster, it is safe to say that they would remain to be a force in the West. The Cavs, on the other hand, is also expected to be dominant in the East for three years in-a-row. Similar to the past two years, these two power teams are again expected to meet in the Finals next summer.
The NBA 2K17 might go on the Warriors? side, but video games are far different from reality. Let us see if the current lineup of these teams can bring them back in the Finals again.
