Nashville creator Callie Khouri recently confirmed the premiere episode for the show?s upcoming Season 5. The much awaited fifth season of the hit country music series is unofficially slated to return to its new homes, Hulu and CMT, in December 2016.
According to reports, Khouri saw an opportunity to announce the series? premier details on Friday night at the Grand Ole Opry. ?It was a concert in which “Nashville” cast member Charles Esten were part of as performers. Several country musicians also performed including Carrie Underwood and more.
A confirmation of Nashville?s fifth season was also made by a Twitter user, @TheCMBeat. A follow up tweet was posted after @TheCMBeat?s, which shows a photo of Esten talking to a group of concert attendees.
News about the Nashville Season 5 premiere leaves several avid fans of the award-winning show in pure bliss. The announcement was made after ABC shockingly revealed the cancellation of the show after its Season 4 despite its huge success.
But it looks like CMT had heard all the Nashville fans as the network announced that it will take over the musical drama TV series. ?The CMT network, which had embraced the task of producing and airing the Nashville Season 5 had put in an order for 22 episodes.
Viewers can enjoy a dual play with Hulu which is a big help in making the broadcast drama work on a cable license fee.
However, the scheduled release date of the series in December has not been confirmed by CMT yet. While it looks like fans need to extend their patience, avid viewers are delighted to know that most of the Nashville actors will return to reprise their roles.
Nashville stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere will return as the lead characters. It follows the journey of fictional country music singers in Nashville, Tennessee. Its fourth season, which was released on September 23, 2015, obtained more than 4 million viewers in the United States.
