Narcos Season 2 is now officially going forward with September release date as Netflix unveiled a new trailer hinting the hunt is on for the infamous gangster Pablo Escobar.
Things looked pretty bleak for future of the series just a few days ago when infamous smuggler?s brother, Roberto Escobar claimed there were historical inaccuracies in the first season and requested Netflix to review the season 2 before it becomes available for streaming. He even sought monetary compensation to the tune of whopping $1 billion from Netflix for having used his family name.
Escobar added that he will take legal action if necessary, but the fact that Netflix has released the trailer indicates that there won?t be any kind of legal action preventing the series to release as planned. Also the Facebook page of the series had lately released photos of the show to ?ease the withdrawal? for fanbase. So things are pretty set for Pablo Escobar and as Netflix already has spoiled it for fans that he will be meeting his fate at the end of the season.
The latest trailer hints that second season of Narcos will pack pretty much of action as last year?s first season. There is a lot of gunfire, bombings, double crossing and narration as before.
The synopsis accompanying the trailer reads: ?In the second season, notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar is on the run, with the Colombian authorities in relentless pursuit — and determined to put an end to his illegal activities.?
As synopsis reveals Season 2 will focus on the war between Escobar?s infamous Medellin Cartel and the government agencies fighting to shut it down. Time and again Escobar slips through their hands owing to the deep corruption running in the ranks of the Colombian government and law enforcement agencies. But with Pablo making new enemies in form of the rival Cali cartel, his gang will be facing new unexpected threats from groups like Los Pepes who unlike the police will operate outside law and have much higher casualty rate. Things will go boom as the power struggles with the rival smugglers will continue until the final showdown with experienced Search Bloc.
Wagner Moura reprises his role of Pablo Escobar along with Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl) and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) who return as DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pe?a.
Narcos Season 2 episodes will be available starting September 2 exclusively on Netflix.
