Narcos Season 2 will premiere on September 2, 2016 on Netflix as indicated in the teaser trailer with all 10 episodes available as well on the said date.

The teaser trailer for the second season simply shows Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar played by Wagner Moura walking towards and solemnly facing the camera against a black background, with two dates being highlighted. The first one is 12.01.49 which is Escobar?s birth and 12.02.93, which is the day of Escobar?s death when he was killed by the Colombian law enforcement.

In June 1992, the drug kingpin had escaped from the hands of authorities in their attempt to transfer him to a more standard holding facility from his luxury prison ?La Catedral,? Daily Mail reports.

After his escape, he was quite successful in hiding from the sight of authorities until December 2, 1993, when he was infamously caught and killed in a middle-class neighbourhood in Medellin, Colombia.

Two Drug Enforcement Agents from America were involved in the manhunt?Steve Murphy and Javier Pe?a, who are both included in the Netflix series, portrayed by Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal.

According to Blasting News, Moura revealed that the death of his character will happen in the second season when he appeared in Chelsea Handler?s Netflix talk show. The 10 episodes will cover Pablo?s escape from La Catedral to the encounter between the drug lord and the Colombian law enforcement which leads to his inevitable demise.

The gangster drama follows the iniquitous activities of the drug trade in South America, particularly of Colombian drug Kingpin, Pablo Escobar. The storyline centers on the real-life battle against one valuable commodity, cocaine, by different political, legal, military and police forces.

Meanwhile, a third season is still possible even though fans will see the end of the infamous Colombian drug lord in Season 2. Many speculate that the series will change storylines and will focus on another drug kingpin or cartel.

For those who want to catch up on the critically-acclaimed series, you can binge watch all 10 episodes of the first season on Netflix before the Season 2 premiere.

Stay tuned for more of what lies ahead or what is left of the Pablo Escobar story on Narcos Season 2 set to be released on September 2, 2016 on Netflix.
