The premiere of Mr. Robot Season 2 is only a week away, and it seems fans are in for a big shock in the new season. Recently, some of the show?s cast members dished details on the second season. According to the series? star Rami Malek, who plays Elliot, Season 2 is ?going to shock a lot of people.? Will Season 2 unfold outrageous twists similar to Season 1?s Elliot?s discovery that Mr. Robot is just a figment of his imagination?
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Malek shared his reaction when the show?s creator Sam Esmail presented Mr. Robot Season 2 to him. His initial reaction was reportedly, ?Really? This is where you?re going with?? According to him, he was skeptical about it just like in Season 1, but Esmail was able to prove him wrong, so he expects the same for this new season. He further stated that viewers are in for a shock in the second season, as it is as ?intelligent and risky? as the first one.
Meanwhile, Deadline has come up with an early review of the cyber drama. According to the report, Season 2 features a chaotic US after the E Corp. hack. In the new season, a pissed off President Barack Obama can be seen, along with violence, Wall Street vandalism and more.
However, while the FBI hunts down Elliot and the society, the protagonist?s main struggle is with himself as he copes with his mental illness and tries to get a grip on reality. Malek will reportedly try to keep Mr. Robot at bay, and he mentioned that he will be retreating to his mother?s house in Season 2.
Meanwhile, Christian Slater, who plays Mr. Robot, said that his character will have a continuous struggle with Elliot. “I am there as his partner, as his protector, and as his enemy. I’m there sometimes for the right reasons and sometimes for the wrong reasons,? he told Collider.
Mr. Robot Season 2 will premiere on July 13 on USA Today.
