Lenovo, which owns Motorola, is apparently gearing up to release the new smartphone called the ?Moto M.?

The Moto M will reportedly come with a fingerprint scanner housed at the back of the device. The design, however, is similar to the well-received Moto X series, complete with a slightly curved back.

GSM Arena says the tech giant could release multiple variants of the M series. Here are some of the names making rounds online: Moto M, Moto M Mini and Moto M Plus.

In the latest leak,?Tech Droider has shared a couple of photos of the upcoming device. The device shown in the photos looks similar to the one that cleared TENAA certification very recently.

Speaking of specifications, the Moto M will apparently come equipped with a good 32GB of built-in storage space. The internal configurations will come backed by a solid 4GB of RAM. Software-wise, not Android 7.0 Nougat, but Android 6.0 Marshmallow will apparently run the smartphone out of the box.

Tied to the model number ?XT1662,? the Moto M has been rumored to feature 5.5-inch display, complemented by 1080p screen resolution. Under the hood, if the reports are true, this device will come powered by a MediaTek MT6750 processor.

Furthermore, this handset will reportedly sport a generous 16MP rear-facing sensor, in addition to an 8MP front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats.

Design-wise, even though it looks a lot like the Moto X, the logo ?Moto? is part of the display towards the bottom end of the device. This is unlike the Moto X where the logo ?M? is embossed on the back of the device. Also, the device in the leaked photo has a unibody metallic design with a golden exterior.

Reports also suggest that this Moto device will debut in Asia very soon. However, there is no information available to ascertain the international release at this point. In fact, the same portal says even though the device uses a ?Moto? brand name, it will be called Lenovo Moto M, and not Motorola Moto M as one would expect.

Are you a fan of the Moto X design? If so, are you planning to purchase this device? Feel free to leave a comment.
