NetherRealm Studios has given an?official launch date of its?latest Mortal Kombat game sequel: ?Mortal Kombat X? ?and is due for release sometime in 2015.
The?announcement was made during the E3 event held almost a month ago, and it?finally ended months of speculation?on what’s the title of the new Mortal Kombat.
The company developer has claimed that it will make use of the so called ?next-gen technology? to run Mortal Kombat X.
Rumors among the gaming community are spreading like wildfire, and say that the game will be released on either PS4 or Xbox One or maybe both.
But in an official press statement released by NetherRealm, they are?developing the game for all platforms. Mortal Kombat X is expected to be available on?PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PS4.
There is ?intense interest among gamers about the upcoming sequel of Mortal Kombat.
During the previous years, ??Mortal Kombat Reboot? and ?Injustice: Gods Among Us? were a hit, and NetherRealm Studios?expects to duplicate these successes with Mortal Kombat X.
It’s interesting to note, that the gameplay will be?quite similar to ?Injustice,? which was released last year. However, players will be given the ability to interact in the game environment of Mortal Kombat X. Such interaction will be a first in this game series.

The trailer begins with a match between the characters Sub-Zero and Scorpion, and the?battle lasted under two minutes. After watching the trailer, viewers would already have an idea on what to expect from this game.
The number of views on the official trailer is now over 10 million and counting.
Mortal Kombat was created by John Tobias and Ed Boon. It was released in 1992 as an arcade game. The series has a long successful history in fighting genres of video games. Mortal Kombat has spawned a movie, a card game and even a comic book series.
