Mortal Kombat X: New Characters Can be played for Free This Weekend

By on

Are you on the fence about picking up the latest DLC for Mortal Kombat X? To help you make your decision, NetherRealm is letting players test drive the four new characters included in the newly released Kombat Pack 2. This means that for this weekend only, Mortal Kombat players can try out Leatherface, Bo Rai Cho, Tri-Borg, and the Xenomorph from the Alien film franchise.

Test Drive New Mortal Kombat X Characters this Weekend

As per Kotaku, all players need to do to access the DLC characters is to head over to the newly opened ?Premier Tower? in the game. This opens up a ?Who?s next? mode that features all the new characters mentioned.

The mode is pretty limited, giving you only a few rounds to try out each character under a variety of challenge conditions. Still, the opportunity to preview a piece of DLC is something you don?t see too often. Hopefully more developers find ways to let players sample new additions before handing over money.

If you like what you saw in the Premier Tower, you can purchase Kombat Pack 2 for $19.99 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The official listing on the Playstation store reads:

?Kombat Pack 2 grants access to 4 new playable characters, as well as previously released content including Goro, Kold War Skin Pack and 2 Klassic Fatality Packs. New characters include Horror icon Leatherface, and the Xenomorph from Alien. Bo? Rai Cho and Triborg the Cyber Ninja complete the offer. Also includes the Apocalypse Pack with three new character skins.?

If you already own the XL edition of the game, you do not need to purchase Kombat Pack 2. Unfortunately this DLC is not coming to the PC version of the game.
