Since Mobile Police Patlabor Reboot was released online, fans have been hoping for the possibility of a new Patlabor anime series. Fortunately, their wait might just be finally over.
Mobile Police Patlabor Reboot Anime Series
The latest instalment of the Mobile Police Patlabor was released last October 15 in a one-week special screening event of the Japan Anima(tor)?s Exhibition (JAE.) Studio Khara previously established The JAE with Hideaki Anno, creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Dwango Co.
Furthermore, the JAE serves as a forum for creators all over the world to share their own animated shorts.On the other hand, Mobile Police Patlabor Reboot will be available for streaming on Japan Anima(tor)?s Exhibition (JAE) website only until February 28, 2017.
The anime short of the Patlabor was produced by Studio Khara, with Anno as the planning and executive producer. Additionally, the team was composed of Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Director,) Yutaka Izubuchi (mechanical designer,) Naoyuki Asano (Animation Character Designer,) and Kenji Kawai (Composer.)
The voices behind the characters of the anime short were Koichi Yamadera, and Mehumi Hayashibara.
Taro Maki?s role in Patlabor
Since the ?90s Taro Maki had played a big role in the Patlabor scene. Taro Maki previously produced the TV animated series Patlabor the Mobile Police.
According to The Asahi Shimbum, Taro Maki, the producer of Patlabor, said via Facebook post that there is a new Patlabor project on its way. However, there isn?t any assurance regarding how long it might take for the team to pull off the project.
One of the speculations why it might take long before a new Patlabor anime series will be released is because of the fact that it is under Studio Khara. Studio Khara, on the other hand, currently has its hands full with the Rebuild of Evangelion movies.
But with Taro Maki?s previous Facebook post, fans can now definitely look forward for the upcoming Mobile Police Patlabor Reboot Anime Series.
