Talk about damage control. No, Mike Rowe didn’t get shot, rather he wanted to shoot at something that might be cause for a potential scandal. Rowe outed himself saying that there might be footage of him in his birthday suit circulating somewhere on social media. The Dirty Jobs host took to Facebook to explain an incident that happened in his home as he was sleeping buck-naked in his bedroom.
While he thought he was in some sort of strange gardening dream, he was roused from sleep by the sound of a buzzing like that from a giant bumblebee. He got up to check outside his window and to his surprise, found a drone buzzing in the air just feet away from his window, its camera pointed straight at him.
You know what they say, never make a joke on someone who just woke up. According to Huffington Post, Rowe, 54, went for his 12-gauge shotgun from under his bed and ran outside still in the buff.
?I pumped a shell into the chamber, enjoying the ?crunch-crunch? sound that makes shotguns worth owning,? he said. ?I had a clear shot?nothing but blue sky above?and more than enough umbrage to justify the destruction I was about to unleash.?
Presence of mind
Sense knocked into him milliseconds before he pulled the trigger. Presence of mind told him that the footage could end up on the local news and even on his mother?s computer screen, along with the headline??Dirty Jobs Guy Totally Loses It?Gets Naked and Shoots Drone from San Francisco Skies.? In his hesitation, the drone flew off, and Rowe took a shot not with a gun but with his cell phone. He has no idea who was flying the drone, but he fears the images it took would be leaked online. Rowe?took to Facebook to warn his fans about any viral scandal that might crop up in the next few days. He even used a cheeky title for it.
?I sincerely hope not, but I know it?s out there, and there isn?t much I can do about it but make sure?if the unthinkable occurs?that you can all say you heard it here first,? he said.
