Microsoft CEO talks about the gaming potential of their latest gadget, Microsoft’s HoloLens

Microsoft?s HoloLens is gaining popularity with its innovating features! Is this gadget a possible contender for the ever famous head mounted VR Oculus Rift and the highly anticipated Project Morpheus? I want to say no, since they offer different kind of immersion like the Rift and Morpheus lets you immerse yourself into the game while the HoloLens on the other hand, it brings the game into our world.

However, looks like Microsoft?s HoloLens will focus entirely into gaming, thus making the competition a bit tighter for the Oculus Rift and Sony?s Project Morpheus.

Microsoft CEO says HoloLens? game potential is ?Mind Blowing?

According to gamespot, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently commented about the gaming potential of Microsoft?s HoloLens during the post-earning financial call last January 26. ?It’s also getting clearer how the games people love today will evolve to mind-blowing experiences in the future when designed for the mixed reality that Windows 10 and HoloLens create,? Microsoft CEO Nadella also added, ?Just imagine what is possible with Minecraft. Gaming truly is a valuable part of millions of people’s lives and Microsoft will excel and increase our lead.?

Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, made a comment last week and he made it clear that gaming will be an important category for the new device as stated by gamespot. ?To me, there’s not a successful consumer electronics device on the planet where gaming is not a primary app category, and I think HoloLens will work the same way; I think gaming will be important.?

So far, there?s still no official announcement yet from Microsoft for any gaming projects for the HoloLens, as reported by gamespot.

I just hope Microsoft will also collaborate with the other leading game developers today like Bethesda. It would be cool to see Alduin flying over your neighborhood and resurrecting one of his dragon lieutenants.

Though, if medieval setup is not up your alley, maybe a zombie post-apocalyptic world would do the trick. Imagine playing DayZ or 7 Days to Die with the HoloLens? now THAT is exciting!
