By on

Even though the demand for tablets is slowing down, the 2-in-1 tablet/notebook combination with detachable keyboard and stylus is going strong. In this post, we have listed down the possible release date, specifications and price of the heavily-rumored Surface Pro 5, collated from various sources.

While the 2-in-1 tablet trend was started by Microsoft?s Surface Pro series, many OEMs have jumped on the bandwagon and released similar devices in the recent past. For instance, Apple?s iPad Pro, Samsung?s TabPro S and the latest Huawei?s MateBook are based on this concept. However, there is none to beat the power, agility and usability of the Windows-powered Surface lineup.

Surface Pro 5 Release Date

Past rumors suggested that Microsoft?s well-received Surface Pro 4 successor will make a debut sometime towards the end of this year. However, a credible report noted recently that the Surface Pro 5 release date has been postponed to 2017 instead.

The good news is that Microsoft will be releasing not one but a couple of Windows 10-powered Surface devices in 2017.

Surface Pro 5 Price

Rumor has it that the Surface Pro 5?s base model will set the buyers back by $899. The top-end variant, on the other hand, will cost around $1,599.

Microsoft?s Surface Pro 5 has been rumored to come as?three variants. One of them will reportedly be powered by an Intel Core M3-6Y30 processor, while the other two variants will come powered by Intel Core i5-6300U and Intel Core i7-6650U SoCs.

The key difference between the current-generation Surface Pro 4 and the Pro 5 will be the power of the Surface Pen.
