Microsoft Surface Pro 5 launch is likely to happen soon as Intel has started shipping its seventh generation Kaby Lake processors to manufacturers.

Intel will ship the low powered chips first, which will be used for tablets. The high powered chips will be shipped later. Kaby Lake chips will be a game changer as it uses the same 14nm process as Skylake and will be equipped with USB 3.1 Generation 2 support.

It will also carry support for the 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3. Thunderbolt 3 has enough bandwidth to power a pair of 4K displays at 60Hz. It also includes HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2.

Intel CEO Brain Krzanich has also officially confirmed that Intel has shipped Kaby Lake processors to PC manufacturers. Intel?s Kaby Lake lineup will include the ?S? SKU for the desktop. Microsoft was unable to release Surface Pro 5 due to the delay in Kaby Lake processor. The brand was not willing to use the existing Skylake processors for its upcoming laptop, according to Mobipicker.

Earlier Jan Dawson, chief analyst at Jackdaw Research had revealed that Microsoft will take more time to launch Surface Pro due to unavailability of Intel processors.

These are m3-6Y30 (900 MHz up to 2.2 GHz), i5-6300U (2.4 up to 3.0 GHz) , i7-6650U (2.2 up to 3.4 GHz) backed by Intel Iris 540 graphics.
