Microsoft Surface Phone will not be released this year. The phone will make a grand entry during the spring of 2017.
Microsoft is purposefully withholding the phone. According to Christian Times, Microsoft wants to add exciting features to the Surface Phone in order to please the customers. The device is expected to take the top position in the handset market. In fact, Microsoft launched Lumia phones with a lot of expectations. Since those phones failed to reach the sales target, Microsoft has turned its attention towards Surface Phone, which is codenamed as ?Juggernaut Alpha?.
Delhi Daily News reported that Microsoft Surface Phone will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor. The price range will be between $400 to $700. The upcoming Surface Phone will have three variants.
?We plan to narrow our focus to three customer segments where we can make unique contributions and where we can differentiate through the combination of our hardware and software. We?ll bring business customers the best management, security and productivity experiences they need; value phone buyers the communications services they want; and Windows fans the flagship devices they?ll love,? Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said.
Among the three variants, the base model will sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space, whereas the second variant is likely to pack ?a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. The third variant will be little expensive because it will have 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage space.
?We need more breakthrough experiences, breakthrough hardware to get people to move to Windows mobile OS. It?s gotta be a phone that?s sort of like, ?Wow?,? Microsoft?s CMO Chris Capossella said.
Analyzing the leaked information, BGR has speculated that the Surface Phone will have a 5.7-inch touchscreen display with 2K resolution, a 20-megapixel rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens.
