Microsoft is going to have its comeback in the smartphone business with its upcoming Surface Phone 2017. Consumers are already anticipating its release as the company is expected to add great features to the handset. Question is, are these specs enough to edge Apple?s upcoming iPhone 8.
Forbes reported that the strength of the upcoming Surface Phone is the newest Microsoft 10 OS. The performance of the system on mobile devices is going to be upgraded in the second quarter of 2017. It is the third Windows 10 feature update that the company called ?Redstone 3? and it certainly makes the handset more interesting.
Furthermore, the phone will have at least a 6-inch screen. The Windows 10 support of ARM-based chips is only working for specific screen sizes – 6-inch, 10-inch and 14-inch. This fact will give the idea that the Surface Phone will have three variants with different screen sizes.
In terms of its internal storage, the 14-inch phone is said to sport a whopping 512GB internal memory alongside an 8GB of RAM. The 10-inch phone, on the other hand, will boast 256GB internal storage and 6GB RAM. Lastly, the smallest variant is reported to feature 128GB internal memory and 4GB RAM.
These three variants will also have three different prices. They are referred to as the consumer model, the business model and the enthusiast model. However, speculations about the price range is not yet out as Microsoft has not confirmed anything yet.
Meanwhile, Apple has also not disclosed any details yet about its iPhone 8. But rumor has it that the company is planning something big and innovative on its 10th anniversary iPhone. As a result, there are already speculations of what the handset will offer next year.

According to previous reports, the iPhone 8 will have an edge-to-edge display with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The handset is also said to have two sizes – 5-inch and 5.8-inch. Both models will sport a curved, bezel-free display but only one will feature an OLED technology.
Similar to the Surface Phone, the price of the iPhone 8 is still hard to speculate. But, if Apple is really creating the best iPhone ever, consumers should expect its cost to be more expensive than its predecessors.
Now, it is still hard to assume whether or not the Microsoft Surface Phone will edge the Apple iPhone 8 because none of these specs have been confirmed by both brands. But, if Apple will indeed release a highly-innovated phone, then it is safe to say that the handset is going to be tough to beat.
