Rumors are circulating around the release date and specs of upcoming Surface Book 2. The current Surface Book has so many faults including shutdowns, overheating, battery performance issues and more. An upcoming Surface Book will change the customer’s thinking about the device as it?s supposed to include several exciting features.
As we have reported earlier, the company is delaying the Surface Pro 5 because of Intel?s ?Kaby Lake? processor. The new processor will not only enhance the performance of the device it will also increase the battery life. Intel is expected to release the Kaby Lake processor in December.
According to Day Herald, the device is expected to feature a massive 32GB RAM. With the combination of Kaby Lake processor and 32GB RAM Surface Book 2 will be one of the best laptops. It will offer up to 1TB onboard storage. Current model offers maximum 512GB internal storage.
Moreover, Kaby Lake will add native USB 3.1 support, whereas Skylake motherboards require a third-party add-on chip in order to provide USB 3.1 ports. So, it will obviously reduce the size of the device. Therefore, customers can expect a more compact Surface Book 2.
Surface Book 2 is supposed to feature 4K 13.5 inch display with Pixelsense technology. Surface Book 2 is also expected to feature the latest NVIDIA graphical processing unit for the die-hard gamers.
Moreover, an upcoming surface book will most probably include USB Type-C and ThunderBolt ports as Apple and ASUS have already introduced these features to their devices. A rechargeable Surface Pen could be there as well.
There is no solid information about the price of Surface Book 2. As the hardware configuration will be upgraded, Surface Book 2 will be obviously expensive than its predecessor.
The Kaby Lake Processor will not roll out before the end of 2016, Surface Book 2 can?t be expected before 2017. Reports suggested that the company will launch Surface Book 2 and Surface Pro 5 in Spring 2017.
