Michael Schumacher News: F1 Legend Belittled By Lewis Hamilton?

By on

The seven-time Formula One Champion record of Michael Schumacher has long been unsurpassed and as many have claimed that three time consecutive F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will be the person to beat it. Hamilton has long refused to be compared with the F1 legend, however, German tabloid Kolner Express quoted Hamilton saying something nasty about Schumacher.

?I?ve never done the things that Michael did to win my titles,? Hamilton reportedly said referring to Schumacher?s dirty tactics in racing. ?I won mine with my natural abilities only.?

This isn?t the first time Hamilton said something offensive to Schumacher. In 2012, Hamilton said he was against being compared with Schumacher as he claimed that he doesn?t want to be likened with the dirty racers like him.

?I would never put myself in the same sentence as Schumacher. Never in my whole career have I ever, on purpose, tried to ruin someone?s race or crash into them. I feel great when I pass someone cleanly and smoothly and have just outsmarted them.?

?I?ve not done anything in the wrong way. So I don?t think it?s fair to compare me to people who have. And I don?t ever plan to be like that. I like to win fairly.?

Hamilton In Denial?

Lewis Hamilton has recently denied saying the above statement published by the German tabloid, News Au reported. ?To all the Michael Schumacher fans, I want you to know how big a fan and admirer of Michael I am,? Hamilton reportedly wrote on his Instagram account.

?I grew up watching him from the early days through to his seventh title. He was and is the greatest of our time and I am hugely proud and grateful to have met him and spent even the littlest time with. He was always kind to me.?

Hamilton said he has never wanted to disrespect the Schumacher family. He also said that he is a proud supporter of Schumacher and he even prays for his recovery.

?I would never wish to disrespect him nor his family and I hold them in the high regard. He was and is the greatest of our time and I am hugely proud and grateful to have met him and spent even the littlest time with. He was always kind to me. I keep him in my prayers as a fellow driver wishing for his recovery.?

Michael Schumacher?s health condition is still uncertain after he hit his head in a skiing accident.
