Seven-time Formula One World Champion and everyone?s favorite Michael Schumacher is still struggling to recover from a serious head injury. While everyone is praying for their favorite race, his family has remained silent about his condition.
Schumacher suffered a serious head injury while skiing at French Alps during his family vacation. He was airlifted to a hospital and placed in a medically induced coma, having suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was in the coma for six months from 29 December 2013 until 16 June 2014.
Michael was discharged from the hospital for further rehabilitation at the Lausanne University Hospital Switzerland. On September 9, 2014 he was relocated to his home to receive medical treatment privately. Since then there is no solid report about his health.
The only reliable statement was the one from his former manager, Sabine Kehm. According to FX News Call, Kehm has recently accepted a lifetime achievement award on the behalf of Michael. She said Michael is recovering but it will take time as his injuries are serious.
She said, ?We are happy to say still he does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had. But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight.?
According to Express, he is still not totally conscious, immobile and cannot talk. Professor Jean-Francois Payen is supervising the team of 15 medical professional. The same doctor who performed Schumacher?s brain operation. A medical accessories of $14 million has been installed at his to ensure he gets the facilities of a hospital. His medical charges including bills of doctors and other expenses are costing $140,000 per week.
Although, the expenses are high, it doesn’t matter to his family as Schumacher has a net worth of $780 million.
However, the champion is taking time to recover, we believe he will once again beat the odds as he has done several times in his racing career.
