?Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain? New Gameplay: Companion App And Graphic Comparisons From Various Game Platforms

Less than a month left and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available, and to get you more excited, we got some new details for the game.

The recent 30-minute gameplay video that was showcased at Gamescom revealed more about the Mother Base; the base of operations for Big Boss?s Diamond Dogs group.

Just like in MGS: Peace Walker, The Phantom Pain allows you to recruit more soldiers for your Mother Base, where you can assign each of them specific roles depending on their statistics either put them in the Mess Hall in increase the food percentage for your squad or to the R&D to research and unlock more weapons and equipment. As your army grow, you have the option to expand Mother Base.

What?s new for the game is the Forward Operations Base (FOB); an optional expansion feature for Mother Base. This allows for PvP features where other players can invade your FOB and steal your resources and crews, you must eliminate the threat by defending your FOB with improved security or the most reliable strategy; taking out the infiltrator by yourself in a classic head-to-head combat. Though it was mentioned that this feature is optional that you can skip this one without affecting the whole gameplay experience.

Aside from the gameplay footage, it was also announced that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will also have a companion app that will be available for both Android and iOS that is similar from MGS: Ground Zeroes. The app will turn your smartphone or table into an external iDroid that provide you can check the overview of the map and displaying current objectives.


And finally a new set of screenshots for the game was made available on the official Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain website. It shows the graphical comparison of the different last gen and current gen consoles along with the PC port. Surprisingly the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version can still provide great visuals for the game. The PC port can reach up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can produced 1080p resolution and also 60 fps, the last gen consoles can only produce 720p resolution and 30 fps.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available for the home consoles and PC on September 1, 2015.
