Metal Gear Solid 6 Confirmed? Konami Will Continue Working On AAA Games, Plot of MGS6 Revealed?

It looks like Metal Gear Solid 6 will still see the light of day whether creator Hideo Kojima is on board or not. Konami has recently debunked rumors that the company is no longer pursuing AAA games except for Pro Evolution Soccer.

A representative of Konami has recently assured fans that they can still expect more Metal Gear Solid games and other triple-A titles from the company. In an interview with Nintendo Life, the representative said the rumors were untrue:

?I can promise you that we?re definitely not leaving Metal Gear behind or anything like that. I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I?m not really sure where they?d be getting that from. We?re still definitely working on console games and franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PES and all the rest.?

Now that a Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain sequel isn?t ruled-out, what can we expect for the sequel? [Spoilers] In the latter events of MGS5 TPP, it is revealed that Punished ?Venom? Snake is just a phantom of Big Boss, meaning he is a fake. Venom Snake is actually The Medic who was fooled into thinking that he was Big Boss.

One of the most intriguing MGS timeline that the latest game can be based on is the Outer Heaven Uprising. According to the Metal Gear Wiki, this is the time where Solid Snake embarked on his first mission for FOXHOUND. This mission was called ?Operation Intrude N313. Here, Solid Snake rescued Gray Fox and defeated the fake Big Boss, ?Venom Snake?.

Of course, if MGS6 were to follow the story of Operation Intrude N313, it must first give more closure to the events of MGS5 TPP. Fans were enraged after they found out that the Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain ending was removed from the game. Worse, gamers found in the game files that there was supposed to be a chapter 3 titled Peace.

With this disappointing revelation, fans have been wondering if Konami will instead place a MGS5 TPP DLC. However, according to Gamingbolt, MGS Community Manager Robert Allen Peeler said they will not provide story DLC for MGSV TPP.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is now available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Metal Gear Online will be made available this October 6 for consoles and sometime in July for PC.
