Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Update: Watch Raiden Use Warp Holes In FOB, Fight Against The Skulls, And More New FOB Features This December 2015

By on

A new Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain update coming this December 2015 will bring new features for the Forward Operation Base mode such as the ability to use Raiden and fighting against the Skulls unit in FOB missions. Here are all the new features that will be included in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain update.

Cyborg Raiden

Cyborg Raiden from MGS4 Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Revengeance will be available for use in FOB. As shown in the video below, he can use wormholes to teleport elsewhere. This will probably be useful for getting past defenses as well as for avoiding heavy gunfire.

Players can now battle against the Skulls in FOB platforms accompanied by their heavy fog that hinders your vision. This will surely provide more challenge for players as the Skulls not only have high HP, but they can also easily evade your attacks. You can see them in action in the video below.

Security Emplacements

More security emplacements will now make invading FOBs harder to pull-off. If getting spotted by a surveillance cameras frustrated you, the new gun cameras will make invading more difficult for you. Also available are new land mines.

It seems that Konami wants MGS5 TPP players to keep on playing the FOB mode as most of their recent updates are focused on improving FOBs. Only time will tell if Konami will decide to provide new story missions for the game especially as numerous players were left unsatisfied by the lack of closure in the game as well as the absence of a discovered Chapter 3: Peace. However, Konami?s most recent update has enabled players to recruit Quiet again after she leaves Mother Base, and these announced features for the next update is only a portion of what will be released in December so there’s still hope for new story missions. Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
