‘Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain’ Tips: How To Get FOB, Benefits of Rolling, And More

By on

Being unequipped with enough Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain tips will make playing through the game feel overwhelming for some. Newcomers to the Metal Gear Solid franchise will also likely fail to unearth the many quirks and hidden things that you can do in MGS5 TPP. Here is our MGSV TPP Tips to help you be more prepared in the game.

How To Get FOB

The Forward Operating Base aka FOB is a useful feature which helps you raise the resources you earn. In FOB, you make another platform similar to Mother Base and you must protect this against other players. You can also attack other FOBs to get plunder resources and steal their troops.

While there has been quite some hype about FOB, this feature is not immediately accessible in the game. To get the FOB mode, you must first start mission 21 and wait for Kazuhira Miller to call you about someone having gone wrong in Mother Base. While in mission 21, accept mission 22 and you?ll be transported to Mother Base. Find the leader of the intruders and after that, you can now engage in FOB battles.

Never Take Showers Anymore

Sick of going back to Mother Base just to take a shower? Wait, why is showering important? Showering actually gives you a longer reflex mode as well as an increase in health. If you don?t shower for a long time, your maximum health and reflex mode length will be lessened.

Travelling to MB with the sole intent of taking a shower is a chore. With this MGSV Tip, you no longer have to do that. Just find a puddle and lie down on it. Roll over back and forth and you?ll be refreshed just like taking a shower.

Stop, Drop, And Roll Away The Fire

You?ll get caught on fire quite a few times in the game especially when you?re fighting against the Man On Fire. If you?re on the brink of death and you feel that the flames will cause you to fail your mission, just stop drop and roll on the ground. You don?t need to be near a puddle to rid yourself of the flames.

Night Vision Goggles Isn?t Only For Nighttime

While your night vision goggles is hugely beneficial in spotting those hard to see enemies during nighttime, you can also use it to spot collectibles in the game. The Night vision goggles works perfectly fine during the morning and you can use it to easily grab those hard to see rough diamonds, posters, and materials. You can also use the NVG while riding vehicles so you can easily spot the enemies and avoid alerting the guards. Personally, I often use the NVG while driving to avoid running over high ranking troops and child soldiers.
