The latest Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain update has brought several new content in the game and enabled players to be reunited again with Quiet. The latter surprised numerous players of the game as the inclusion of Quiet again seems to negate the impact of her leaving Diamond Dogs, however, those who have datamined MGS5 TPP already knew that Konami planned to do that from the beginning. As a new line of code was unearthed, Konami is rumored to patch-in a new mission just like how they brought back Quiet.
Mission 51 To Be Patched-In? [Spoilers]
A new line of code ?After_THE_GREAT_ESCAPE_LIQUID? and ?STORY_SEQUENCE? was found by dataminers on Reddit, Gamingbolt reported. This newly found code might mean that a new mission will be added where the Diamond Dogs try to find Eli aka ?Liquid? after he leaves Mother Base. If this is the case, Konami might also release in the future the unfinished ?Mission 51: Kingdom of the Flies? featured in the collector?s edition of the game.
For those unaware, Eli is a clone of the real Big Boss and is named as Liquid in past Metal Gear Solid titles. In Chapter 2, Eli uses Metal Gear Sahelanthropus to leave Mother Base. Unless you watch the unfinished scenes of ?Mission 51: Kingdom of the Flies? in the collector?s edition of the game, you?ll never find out what happened to Eli after he used Metal Gear Sahelanthropus to leave Mother Base.
The unfinished and unreleased ?Mission 51: Kingdom of the Flies? was supposedly an integral part of MGS5 TPP as it gives a bit of closure to Eli and the Flying Boy. MGS5 TPP was touted as the game to bridge loose ends in the franchise and the exclusion of this mission frustrated numerous fans. Furthermore, numerous players were also disappointed because the game ends without a proper boss battle.
Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is available on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
