Konami is taking heat again as the Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain FOB mode has been constantly plagued by cheaters. Konami warns in the online notices that cheaters will meet repercussions, however, cheating remains rampant and this has frustrated many, particularly those playing the PC version.
Numerous owners of the MGS5 TPP PC version have expressed their discontentment with the FOB mode, Design & Trend reported. Numerous hackers used different kinds of mods that helped them have the advantage to easily win FOB invasions. Losing FOB invasions is gut-wrenching for players because they can lose their precious materials as well as FOB staff. Here are some of the mods used by the cheaters according to threads on steam and reddit:
- Infinite Health
- Faster movement speed
- Automatic rockets
- Can invade supported FOB
- Infinite health
- Rapid rocket launcher
According to players, a particularly hacker has long been playing the game since September and is yet to be banned despite people reporting the issue already. While the cheaters remain active on FOB, some players have received an ?Administrator?s Reward? after they reported cheaters in the game. The reward given composed of over 30 S++ volunteers and a lot of GMP and processed resources.
The issue on the Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain FOB mode is disappointing especially as Konami charges real money via microtransactions called FOB insurance. This insurance enables players to get back the staff and materials that gets abducted from them by rival FOBs, however, not everything is covered by the insurance like nukes. Getting a nuke stolen by a hacker will surely make the player feel frustrated.
Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Metal Gear Online is now live on consoles, meanwhile, the PC version will be released in January 2016
