Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Ending: Chapter 3 removed? Scenes And Missions Absent From Retail Game?

By on

Fans were tormented and angered when they found out that the Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Ending has been removed from the game. It seems that mission 51 wasn?t the only thing removed in the game because a Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain chapter 3 was recently found in the game?s code.

Chapter 3

An entire chapter was chopped from MGSV as found by users in Facepunch, Windows Central reported. Among those found were MGS3 textures of The Boss and a placeholder for chapter 3 which was titled ?Peace?.

Could The Boss have appeared via flashback? Could it be that chapter 51 was supposedly included in Chapter 3 or could there have been more scenes and missions to connect the timeline of MGS5 with?MGS1? It looks like we?ll never know what really happened just like how both Konami and Kojima are mum about the disbandment of Kojima Productions.

More Scenes Removed

According to a writer from Gamingbolt, numerous scenes that were shown in the pre-launch trailers were absent in the retail game. Here are all the missing scenes and features according to Gamingbolt:

?For example the burning village scene and Snake screaming in the E3 2014 trailer, African child soldiers being trained by their master and a prisoner getting shot from the E3 2013 trailer, the mission based in Africa which was showcased in the TGS 2014 demonstration along with the PS4 cardboard box are nowhere to be found in the game.?

Another scene which was removed shows Diamond Dogs being successful in ridding the world from nukes. Gamingbolt has stashed the video here as it has already been removed from YouTube.

?Removed? Cutscenes And Missions Were Obtainable?

Konami Community Manager Robert Peeler has been engaging fans of MGS5 on Twitter and he hinted that the scene where Diamond Dogs celebrated after successfully removing the world from nukes could have been only missed by players. Peeler explained that players who saw the scene might ?haven?t done everything? in the game and he would be impressed if the person didn?t resort to cheating to obtain the cutscene.

What do you guys think? Have you also missed a few cutscenes shown in the trailers? Were you already able to finish the game and saw the scene from Diamond Dogs? Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is now available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
