Fans may need to wait a bit longer for the Maze Runner 3 premiere after reports have suggested that the highly-anticipated film could be pushed further to 2018. Fox have still yet to announce official details for the Maze Runner 3 release date but the third and final part of the Maze Runner series is expected to not be showing any time this year.

Movie News Guide shared that fans continue to be overwhelmed as recent rumors have been pointing to Fox Productions being responsible for the Maze Runner 3 accident. Though the release date of the movie is still unclear, fans can rest assured that it will still push through.

Maze Runner 3 delayed until?2018

CBC News added there was a sudden change of action sequence for actor Dylan O?Brien that increased the risk to the actor and that they were not able to properly train the actor for the stunt. Fox supposedly issued a statement saying the scene was ?thoroughly rehearsed? and that ?a safety meeting was held with cast and crew prior to the sequence,? according to Movie News Guide.

Fans were surprised to hear that Maze Runner 3 cancelled production when O?Brien had an accident during filming. The actor was previously injured in the set of his upcoming film in Vancouver, Canada and suffered sever injuries and had sustained facial fractures and lacerations.

According to Deadline, O?Brien was supposedly on the back of a train in a closed set and fell on his face. He was transferred immediately to the nearest hospital for observation and treatment. The report added that the Maze Runner 3 production is indefinitely suspended since Dylan O?Brien?s injuries could be ?far more serious? than previously reported.

?The resumption of principal photography on ?Maze Runner: The Death Cure? has been further delayed to allow Dylan O?Brien more time to fully recover his injuries,? Fox said in a statement, according to Deadline. ?We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible.?
