Masterchef Australia 2016 may have been accused of being boring by former My Kitchen Rules contestant Sophia Pou, but there?s been drama and even romance involved in the show, if in a somewhat roundabout way. Another contestant was eliminated on the reality cooking show yesterday, but at least the contestant was able to find love in the process.
Miles Pritchett, the latest contestant to be eliminated from Masterchef Australia, doesn?t feel so bad about losing the competition as he has found love with his fiancee, Tania Martin. According to News.com.au, the ?46-year-old park ranger has just proposed to a former workmate, Tania Martin, and the pair is set to be married in mid-December.?
According to the site, the two reconnected during a break in the filming of Masterchef Australia. As Miles tells it: ?We happened to catch up for a coffee with a couple of mates who also worked in the same game at the same time. It was just a little group gathering. There was a sparkle in her eye. Lo and behold we fell ridiculously, madly in love with each other ? head over heels. We hadn?t seen each other for 14 years and it turned into a whirlwind romance.?
As recounted by the Daily Mail, Miles downfall was the Lucky Dip elimination challenge, where he was assigned to work with Japanese cuisine and use fish as an ingredient. Pritchett, who actually lived in Japan for five years and has a half-Japanese son who works as a chef, thought that he would shine in the challenge, but ended up succumbing to the pressure. Pritchett?s elimination follows that of Charlie Satori, who was eliminated in what has been called the ?toughest-ever pressure test?.
Nevertheless, Pritchett is looking to the future, and tells News.com.au that he?s looking ?to open a cafe in the regional Queensland town of Clermont? and establish ?a concept called the Miles Pie Club?.
