Currently, Mass Effect Andromeda is plagued with game-breaking bugs and off-putting animations that leave fans frustrated. A post-launch update was confirmed to fix some of these issues. However, the developers have yet to announce any exact Mass Effect Andromeda update release dates.
Mass Effect Andromeda Update Release Date
Mass Effect Andromeda Lead Designer Ian Frazier said Bioware doesn’t announce patches in advance.” I can’t provide a time frame on patches, sorry,” Frazier said. “We generally don’t announce them in advance–they just come out when ready.” For now, the next patch is just a matter of waiting.
Bugs and Glitches
Currently, Mass Effect Andromeda is buggy, which gets on the nerves of fans. From minor annoyances such as inaudible squad banters to absent key NPCs, there’s a slew of issues that needs fixing.
Moreover, uncharacteristically fast NPCs, map glitches, odd and disorienting character states, and other issues also exist in Mass Effect Andromeda. Both singleplayer and multiplayer mode isn’t safe from the game’s issues. The game is still playable, but the game-breaking issues can break immersion and ruin serious gameplay appreciation for some of its fans.
One of the worst issues we encountered in our playthrough involves a loot bug that persisted for over an hour. Picking loot from containers leads to a prompt where players can decide which items to pick up. However, the game failed to register this prompt, and this only appeared at crucial moments like during battles or platforming sections, which usually resulted to a game over screen. The menu prompt usually pauses the action, but it failed to do when the bug was triggered.
A Damn Shame
Aside from bugs that affect gameplay, EA’s new Mass Effect entry is also receiving flak for its off-putting and bizarre animations. Fans even note that Mass Effect Andromeda’s characters don’t look good and the previous titles are technically better than this entry.
The longer the game stays broken, the more fans will feel bad for its quality. Unlike the gameplay bugs, Bioware has yet to acknowledge whether they are working on a patch to fix the animations.
Despite being at a bad spot at the moment, Mass Effect Andromeda does feature new content like new alien races and the whole Andromeda character universe. This entry marks a new start in the Mass Effect universe. However, we may not see another entry if this game leaves a bad taste in its players.
Mass Effect Andromeda so far
Currently, Mass Effect Andromeda is just a week old from its release last March 21. Players are experiencing issues and the off-putting animations won’t be the first post-release fix coming to the title. For now, fans can only wait for the fixes to roll in.
