Marvel vs Capcom Infinite dataminers have discovered files that reveal its starting roster. Apparently, the title will have around more than 30 characters. X-Men characters are nowhere to be found in the datamine.
Full Character Roster
As spotted by the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite subreddit, the datamined files of all Marvel vs Capcom Infinite characters were found and arranged in alphabetical order. Here’s the names of all the datamined characters:
- Black Panther
- Captain America
- Captain Marvel
- Chun Li
- Dahren Mohran (Monster Hunter Elder Dragon)
- Doctor Strange
- Frank (Possibly Frank West)
- Ghost Rider
- Hiryu (Strider Hiryu)
- Hunter (Monster Hunter Player Character?)
- Iron Man
- Jedah (Darkstalkers)
- Megaman X
- Red Arremer (Firebrand)
- RRaccoon 1 and 2 (Rocket Raccoon-Groot pair)
- Symbiote Huge and Symbiote Soldier (Could be Agent Venom)
- Thanos (Has a Restraint Version)
- Ultron ( Has Sigma and Omega versions)
- Winter Soldier
So far, the datamined includes some files which could boost the roster 40 characters as some are vaguely labeled. They could be separate standalone characters or alternate forms accessible during battle. At best, players can look forward to a large starting roster for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite.
The datamined list doesn’t show a single X-Men character in its Marvel roster. This is the first time that that the Marvel vs Capcom series doesn’t have any playable X-Men. Most competitive picks in the previous entry, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, featured X-Men characters such as Magneto, Storm, Wolverine, and Sentinel. Experienced players will have to find their substitutes in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, if there are any.
Large Dragon Won’t Fit The Screen
As seen in the datamined roster, the Dahren Mohran is actually an Elder Dragon from the Monster Hunter series. It can be seen poking its head out of a sandy desert in the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Story Trailer 2. The trailer shows that the size of its mouth is much larger than Ryu and Hulk. Fans are still debating if this dragon is a playable or strictly a boss character as its size will definitely dwarf the other characters.
For now, fans should wait for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite to launch on September 19 before fully believing this leak. Interested players can check its Story demo available on PS4 or Xbox One. As of E3 2017, players consider that Marvel vs Capcom Infinite’s rival is the upcoming Dragonball Fighter Z from Arc System Works coming early 2018. Fans will have two ‘Marvel vs Capcom-like” fighting games by early next year on their plate. For now, we’ll just have to wait for the months to roll in and get our fighting games soon.
