Marvel Battlegrounds Announced For Disney Infinity 3.0, Multiplayer Arcade Style In Focus

The newest playset for Disney Infinity 3.0 has been revealed and it is more on Marvel mayhem.

As the Marvel franchise continues to expand to different media, it is no surprise that more video games based on Marvel heroes will be included. With Disney Infinity 3.0 kicked in last month with Star Wars and Disney characters, this time Marvel will be joining once again since Disney Infinity 2.0 with a new playset. Marvel Battlegrounds is the latest playset that will feature Marvel heroes and villains and with an all-new gameplay. The new playset will feature Captain America on his new outfit, movie version of Ultron in Avengers Age of Ultron and Hulkbuster Iron Man in the Age of Ultron movie.

Marvel Battlegrounds will focus more on multiplayer arcade-style brawler, where up to four players can participate and the mode will have an original Marvel storyline. One great feature on this new playset is that you can use your old Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel characters and use them in the game, with some characters having a brand new set of move lists. Fans of the Disney Infinity series will feel more welcome to the Marvel Battegrounds playset as the game has a very similar gameplay with Super Smash Bros. and PlayStation All-Stars as well as the mobile game Marvel Contest of Champions in terms of multiplayer brawling, while still keeping itself original with unique game mechanics.

Vice President of Marvel Games Jay Ong expressed his views about Marvel Battlegrounds:

?We worked closely with the Disney Infinity development team to come up with new gameplay and storyline for Marvel Battlegrounds that is unique to the platform. We?ve created an authentic Marvel story that will give players the freedom to choose any Marvel figure in Disney Infinity and have them face off against each other in an arena style combat.?

Expect to see the Marvel Battlegrounds playset to be available next year for Disney Infinity 3.0 that is available for home consoles.
